Connection to Nature

Nature is so important to us because it IS us. Has human beings we are a part of nature and yet we treat it separately and try to close it off from us, even though we ourselves are nature. People go on hikes and trails and admire nature saying how good nature it, but nature is not a place or a park. It's not a place you can visit can come back to whenever you want. Nature is our food, our crops, our livestock, our gardens, our pets, and ourselves. Yet we take so much from the natural and poison what we have left. The human race it so selfish when it comes to our world. We take and take and do not give nearly enough back.
I mean look at something simple like gas and what actually goes into making it. Our fuel comes from plants and animals from thousands, millions of years ago crushed down and by the earth itself over millions of years and we just dig it up and use millions of gallons of it per day. Like the amount of time and energy that goes into what gas comes from is not even close to how much we use it. Not even close by any stretch of the imagination.
There is something so beautiful and spiritual about our environment that you can feel it. You can feel the sense of closeness when you are surrounded by nature. You feel yourself go back to your roots and me personally I feel really alive around nature. From expansive forest to open oceans when you are surrounded by life and feel a part of it, it can be a rush of energy, but it can be so hard to get to that point because of the comforts of modern day technologies. But there are those moments when you feel that amazing closeness to our earth, and that is something that everyone needs.
